Centrally situated between Boise, Idaho, Spokane, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, Wildhorse Resort & Casino is a premier destination for family getaways, business meetings and large conventions. The Resort features a 24-hour casino, hotel, RV Park, nine restaurants, 5-screen Cineplex, 18-hole championship golf course, travel plaza and tribal museum. Now open \u2013 Wildhorse Family Funplex \u2013 featuring a 24-lane bowling alley, food court and arcade!  There is no destination experience like it in the Pacific Northwest. Wildhorse is located just off I-84 at exit 216, four miles east of Pendleton, Oregon. Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian reservation <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) is a union of three tribes: Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla. In 1855 the three tribes signed a treaty with the U.S. government, in which it ceded over 6.4 million acres to the United States.<\/p>

In the treaty, the tribes reserved rights to fish, hunt, and gather foods and medicines within the ceded lands, which today is northeastern Oregon and southeastern Washington. Tribal members still exercise and protect those rights today.<\/p>

CTUIR is governed by a Constitution and by-laws adopted in 1949.\u00a0 The Governing body is the nine-member Board of Trustees, elected every two years by the General Council.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Wildhorse Resort & Casino

The CTUIR is a modern Tribal government representing the Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla people, who have lived in this region for thousands of years. Traditional games of skill and games of chance have always been part of their tribal culture.\u00a0<\/p>

In 1988 the U.S. Congress passed the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, which provided a basis for Indian Tribes in the US to enter into modern forms of gaming for the purpose of supplementing revenue for Tribal nations. In March, 1995 the CTUIR opened the Wildhorse Casino for this purpose.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Where there once was a wheat field 25 years ago, now sits the sprawling Wildhorse Resort & Casino, a beacon of lights welcoming visitors from near and far.\u00a0 Four miles east of Pendleton, Oregon, the resort, owned and operated by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) is the leading entertainment destination in the region.<\/p>
